Dear friend,
The importance of silence is key to walking in the Lords presence. Often times we can be bombarded with the noise of life, both internally and externally that we tend to miss the soft whisper the Lord brings our way.
How do we calm our inner thoughts, so that we can align with His? We simply must “be still!” Being still, or silent doesn’t necessarily mean lack of noise as we know it. It means quieting our fleshly man, so that our spirit man could speak up. If you’re a parent, or have ever taken care of someone you know what I mean.
Have you ever been so focused on what you were doing, that you didn’t hear what was going on around you? You didn’t even notice your young child playing in the flour in front of you. Why is that? Because your flesh was quieted. You were focused on what was in you to do, so much so that you had tuned out the distractions going on around you.
Yes, it’s not easy… nothing in life is! But, if we would just sit in His presence in silence, we just might get a response.
That’s how you must be, if you want to draw closer in the Lord. You mustn’t allow worldly things, issues, dimly lit friendships, or even yourself to distract you from moving in the things of God.
