The Bridegroom Knocks,
As I gaze outside the window, I couldn’t help but to notice a wedding in the far distance. I was instantly reminded that the season was once again changing; when flowers bloom, and birds sing. Everything seemed just right…a perfect day for a wedding. The sun was shining, the wind was calm, and the spring air was pure.
As I continued looking, I couldn’t help but to notice the bridegroom standing at the altar, patiently waiting for his bride to arrive. I could sense his relaxed, yet anxious demeanor; enjoying the moment, while at the same time eagerly waiting for the arrival of his bride.
And for the first time I was able to picture how Jesus (the Bridegroom) is with us.
Jesus, is the perfect gentlemen. He waits for us to open the door to our hearts, and is standing with arms wide open, as we walk down the aisle to meet Him. He never forces, and lovingly knocks on the door to our hearts, and although He patiently waits, He knows that the time of is arrival is soon drawing near.
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5
Just like the bridegroom I saw, Jesus also loves His bride (the Church), and longs to have a relationship with us. Will you let Him in to the doorway of your heart? Has He been knocking, and you’ve been pressing mute to His call? Don’t allow the cares of this world to block you from communing with the True Shepherd…He’s knocking, It’s time to walk down the aisle to salvation, and Let Him In.
Love, Virtue
Wisdom Nugget: If you haven’t already invite the Lord into your heart, and embrace Him as the Bridegroom. Don’t look at your flaws for, “by His stripes you are healed.”
